Büsi für Blank Forms

Büsi für Blank Forms

Anton Bruhin has created an edition of seven Büsi variations—riffing on his classic cat mosaic—published by Blank Forms alongside his exhibition One or Several Pipes?, on view from October 24th to December 14th, 2024.

ANTON BRUHIN (b. 1949) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Zurich. Across his textual and sonic experiments, sculptures, and drawings, Bruhin conjures absurd and hallucinatory visions rooted in a formalist approach to language. His childhood interest in typography led to early work in concrete and sound poetry, then fermented during his studies at the legendary experimental seminars Class F+F (Form und Farbe) at the Zürich Kunstgewerbeschule. Over time, Bruhin’s work became characterized by an economy of means, dry wit and wordplay, and an exploration of the hinterlands of communication. A relentless explorer of new forms, Bruhin himself put it best when he said: “Agriculturally speaking, I don’t produce monoculture.”

Blank Forms is a nonprofit organization supporting emerging and historically significant artists to produce work across disciplines. Purchasing a fundraising edition helps us continue to promote vanguard artistic practices through performances, publications, exhibitions, and legacy work.

Proceeds will be split between Blank Forms and the artist. Click on any cat to purchase, or please send inquiries to Corinne Daniel at corinne@blankforms.org.
