Win McCarthy for Graham Lambkin’s Amateur Doubles
5 unique covers
Epson 770 Ultrachrome ink on adhesive silver foil, mounted on blank record sleeve
For our TEST PRESSINGS initiative, we invited ten visual artists—Marie Angeletti, Cory Arcangel, Rochelle Goldberg, Brad Kronz, Veit Laurent, Ari Marcopoulos, Win McCarthy, Chadwick Rantanen, Joanne Robertson, and Stewart Uoo—to select an album from our back catalog and design covers for its test pressings. Win McCarthy (b. 1986), based in New York, selected Graham Lambkin’s Amateur Doubles (2021).
Test pressings are the very first vinyls produced in the stamping of a record, used by artists and producers to evaluate audio quality. This year, Blank Forms gave these records new life by turning each plain white sleeve into a canvas for a contemporary artist—now available to the public.
